You’d Be Crazy Not to Try These Beer Recipes for Summer!

Beer is one of the most understated ingredients in any dish; sadly, this alcoholic beverage usually plays second fiddle to the more popular alcoholic ingredients like wine or vodka. Impress your guests with a few recipes that take your brew out of the backseat.

1. Beer Can Chicken

beer_can_chickenThis recipe is so simple yet so impressive. Since this method can be used with any combination of ingredients, it’s super versatile and can be adapted to nearly any kind of cuisine. All you need is one full chicken with the giblets removed.

For a smoky chicken, mix one tablespoon chipotle pepper seasoning, one teaspoon garlic powder, one teaspoon onion powder and one teaspoon paprika. For a Mexican season, mix one teaspoon chili powder, one teaspoon onion powder, one teaspoon garlic powder and one teaspoon oregano.

Rub the chicken with your desired rub. Crank up a grill to 425 degrees. Dump out one-half of a can of pilsner (or rather drink it!), and place the rest of the can on the counter. Place the chicken on the can so the cavity encases the can and the can acts as a stand for the chicken. Place the whole thing on the grill and let cook for about an hour.

2. Porter Float

Serve this creamy concoction for a dessert you’ll want to save room for! Simple scoop ½ cup of rich vanilla bean ice cream into a large pint glass. Pour an entire bottle of porter or other dark brew like Guinness over the ice cream. Add a drizzle of caramel syrup on top. Serve with a long ice cream sundae spoon and a straw for a dessert that will blow your friends’ minds.

3. Citrus Spritzer

Keep everyone hydrated with this lovely light cocktail that goes perfect with any of these recipes. Simply mix one can of hefeweizen with the juice from one orange juice and one lemon. Using a mortar and pedestal, crush a few leaves of sage so the oils are released. Pour the mixture over a few cubes of ice. Garnish with the sage leaves. Serve with a straw so guests can enjoy the drink without getting a mouthful of sage leaves.

4. Beer Shrimp

Beer_ShrimpThis light dish is best served in the summertime or in hot weather when everyone needs a refreshing appetizer or light dinner. Traditionally, a crisp white wine is used in shrimp boils and sautés, but you can exchange the wine for brew for a totally different take on shrimp. Simply melt ¼ stick of butter in a large saucepan or skillet. Place a pound of shrimp in the butter. Squeeze the juice of two whole limes over the shrimp. Add salt and pepper. Pour a light brew over the shrimp, and place a lid on the skillet. Allow the shrimp to cook for about eight-to-ten minutes (until the shrimp turn pink). Serve with cilantro and chipotle dipping sauce.

These recipes are designed to be paired together or served on their own. Try your own variations for a unique tasting experience. Buy good beer at Redmart.

Top 5 Facial Treatments To Instantly Look Younger

Women everywhere are always looking for new ways to look younger and to enhance their natural beauty. Great skincare and a great attitude combined with healthy habits is really the key to looking great, and that’s why wise women focus on taking care of their skin by taking advantage of the many new innovations out there today in skin care.

Luckily, we live in a time of great breakthroughs in skincare technology. This is great news for women who value the look and feel of healthy skin, as skin that is well cared for enhances beauty and provides a look that is vibrant and glowing. Let’s take a look at some of the top skincare treatments available today.

5 Facial Treatments To Instantly Look Younger

1. Microdermabrasion

This highly popular skin treatment removes the top layer of the skin, with all its dulling dead skin cells, by utilizing a spray of micro crystals. This type of treatment is great for people with minor scarring and fine lines on the skin.

2. Botox

This highly popular wrinkle treatment has taken off as a major way to lessen the signs of aging (wrinkles on the face) without invasive cosmetic surgery. The popularity of this facial treatment in Singapore, Japan, Europe and the US attests to the benefits it can bring to aging or damaged skin. The treatment uses a very purified toxin to temporarily paralyze facial muscles to keep more wrinkles from forming, and to lessen the look of wrinkles that have already formed. The treatment wears off after a few months, so it must be repeated regularly.

 3. Peeling treatments

Facial peels are another great way to brighten and freshen up the skin, by removing the top layer of dead skin and to clean the pores. The key is to choose a peel that’s appropriate for skin type. Salicylic acid peels are good for oily, acne prone skin, while glycol acid peels are better for dryer skin with wrinkles.

4. Fillers

Hyaluronic fillers are a major breakthrough in achieving a younger, more refreshed look without cosmetic surgery. These fillers are injected into the skin in areas with fine lines around the lips and even in the crow’s feet areas near the eyes. The latest, newest class of fillers have less of a “clumping” effect than the earliest fillers and are injected into just the top layers of the skin, to minimize bruising. The effect is of smoother, youthful skin with minimum recovery time.

5. Photodynamic rejuvenation.

This ground breaking treatment uses Intense Pulsed Light along with a topical drug to brighten the look of sun damaged skin by breaking up pigmentation (dark spots) on the skin. It’s been said that people can see results in as little as two to three sessions, and as an added bonus, this treatment breaks up pre-cancerous cells.

All of these treatments can significantly refresh the skin and add a more youthful appearance without the need or high expense of cosmetic surgery, so they get our vote as recommend.

Public housing in Singapore is managed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). The majority of the residential housing developments in Singapore are publicly governed and developed. HDB flats are high quality and are located in areas that have their own schools, supermarkets, clinics, sports and recreational facilities. There are eligibility criteria which buyers must meet in order to purchase this type of property.

Condos

At the higher end of the market, a serviced condo is a great way to live in Singapore. Many have facilities like gyms and pools and services like maid service and laundry are commonly included. From studio units to luxury penthouses, condominiums are an increasingly popular option for people buying property in Singapore.

Bungalows

For families, bungalows offer more space and privacy than apartment or condo living. These properties tend to date from before the Second World War, so they often have more personality than inner city properties. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, these properties are a great choice for families and older buyers.

Period properties

For something really quirky, there are a small number of colonial houses remaining in Singapore. These properties date from the 1800s to the early part of the 20th century. It’s vital to move quickly though, as they get snatched up extremely fast!

Houses

For those who prefer living in a house, a wide range can be found in Singapore from townhouses to terraced properties, semi-detached and detached houses and, built in later years, cluster houses which tend to be a little cheaper but still offer excellent facilities and quality of life. Many have gardens and most are close to amenities.
