Six Habits That Will Make a World of a Difference to Your Makeup

A woman’s makeup can transform her into a goddess if she puts it on correctly. On the other hand, women who apply their makeup too thickly or with incorrect techniques can give themselves a clownish or even scary appearance. If you want to look your best, learning the proper way to apply your makeup is one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal. If you want to become a makeup expert, start by following these six smart tips to improve your makeup.

My BEST new concealer lesson is to do the "V" under the eye down to the upper cheek and blend. Right before I learned it, I went through a BAD bumbed makeup stage. Not knowing how to get rid of "white' racoon Thank GOD for Pinterest:)

Learn How to Apply Concealer

One of the most common mistakes women make with their makeup is to apply their concealer incorrectly. Proper concealer use is the foundation of good makeup technique. One of the keys to applying concealer is to first apply a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15. Using moisturizer will help the concealer to glide on smoothly.

After you have applied the moisturizer, use make up brushes to apply the concealer. Do not fall for the mistaken advice that you should use a concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone. Use a concealer that is the same shade as your skin tone. Only use your concealer where you need it. Concealer should go on blemishes and under your eyes. Judicious use of concealer is a skill that all women need to perfect.

Perfect Base

After you apply your concealer, you must lay a foundation of base before you start applying the rest of your makeup. If you want to get the perfect base, they key is to apply it in the right places. Using a foundation stick, apply thick lines of base above your brows, down your nose and on each cheek bone. Once you have made these lines, you can then blend the base into your skin with the brushes you use for your makeup. This will help to give it an even, beautiful tone.

Survey Your Face

Once you applied your foundation, it is important to assess your face before moving on. Make sure that none of your blemishes are still showing through. If you do have a pimple that is showing through both your concealer and base, then you need to use a little more concealer to cover it up. 3CE Cosmetics makes a number of concealers that are great for these touch-up concealing jobs.

Applying blush correctly can make all the difference in how that lovely face of yours appears. Check out this useful advice, to make sure you're doing it right!

Cream Blush is the Secret to a Healthy Glow

If you are still using powder blush, then you need to jump into the 21st century. Forget the powder and switch to cream blush. When you use cream blush to redden your cheeks, it gives you a much more natural appearance. Cream blush is perfect for creating the appearance of a glow that is generated from within.

Cream Shadow

As well as being better for blush, creams are better for eye makeup as well. If you want to create a lovely, natural look for your eyes, use a cream shadow on your eyes. They come in a wide range of shades. These cream shadows also do a great job of covering up any stray eyebrow hairs.

Two Coats of Mascara

One of the most common mistakes that women make when applying their makeup is to put on only one coat of mascara. One coat is never enough to coat your eyelashes fully. Two coats will give you the perfect depth of mascara to look great and last for the day.

Follow these six makeup tips if you want to look your best. Applying your makeup is not a mystery that only artists can do right. Simply following these easy steps will give you a lovely appearance that will get your noticed.

A Guide to Giving Yourself a Manicure

Many people go to the salon to get a manicure, but did you know that you can give yourself a great manicure at home? You can! All you need are a few key items to get started. Make sure you have an emory board (classic nail file), an orange stick (for cuticle pushing), a cuticle clipper or pair of small nail scissors, a small bowl of warm sudsy water, a nail buffer, an oil of some kind (olive oil or jojoba oil work best), a clear top coat/bottom coat nail polish, a nail polish in the color of your choice, a few q-tips, and a towel for clean up. Once you have all of these items, follow the advice in this article, and give yourself a wonderful manicure.

The first thing you want to do is wash your hands thoroughly. Then, take me an emory board and even out all of your nails, making sure to get in on the corners where cuticles can build up. Make all of your nails even with each other, even if that means whittling them down further. Next, set up a movie, and put your hands into a small bowl form sudsy water for approximately 10 minutes. During this time, just hang out and wait. After the 10 minutes is up, take out your hands and dry them off.

Now that your cuticles are softer, you can use your orange stick and slowly and gently push your cuticles back. If you have a few pieces of nail or cuticles that are hanging off, use your cuticle clippers or scissors to cut them. Once that is done, go back with the emory board and even out your nails again. Next, use your nail buffer to soften the bed of the nail and even out any ridges.

Finally you are ready to paint your nails. First use your top coat/bas ecoat to lay down a clear layer on each nail. Once that is dry, use your chosen nail color and put on one layer. Let that dry, put on another layer of your chosen nail color, and finally, once that is dry, follow with another clear layer of polish. Wait at least 20 minutes to dry.

Remember, you don’t have to pay $40-$50 for a salon manicure. You can do it at home for a fraction of the cost. And it can be a fun activity to do with your girlfriends, daughters or granddaughters. Follow the advice in this article, and try it today!

Make Up Brush 101 Guide

This article will serve as a make up brush guide for enthusiasts who want to know what kind of makeup brushes to look for, where to find them and how to properly maintain them will find those answers within the contents of this article.

The Essentials
A typical make up brush set consists of eight essential brushes: a foundation brush, a concealer brush, a powder brush, a blush brush, a highlighter brush, a contour brush, an eyebrow brush and an eye shadow brush. Depending on the brand name and grade, these brush sets can cost less than $50 or more than $200. They can be purchased online or offline via specialty shops, drugstores and some supermarkets. For example, Sigma brushes can be purchased directly from the manufacturer.

Natural vs. Synthetic Brushes
It could be argued that the pros and cons of using make up brushes made out of natural and synthetic bristles are equal. The final decision, however, is always based on personal preference and budget. For example, synthetic brushes are typically cheaper and sturdier than their natural counterparts because the bristles are man-made. They are also popular with vegans and individuals with certain allergies. Traditionalists and some professional make up artists prefer using brushes that have natural bristles, which are made of animal hair, because natural fibers are purportedly better for creating “layered” looks. Amateur make up enthusiasts would do well to purchase a synthetic version of the aforementioned essential brush set, which can be purchased for less than $40. One professional grade makeup brush made of natural fibers can cost more than $40.

Both synthetic and natural bristle make up brushes require regular maintenance; thankfully, there are a number of economical ways to clean the brushes in good shape. Generic shampoos and conditioners as well as astringents such as alcohol can all be used to keep the brushes free of makeup and oils. These items can be purchased online and offline for very little money. Building a professional make up case can cost hundreds of dollars. Make up aficionados on a budget will be glad to know that they have options. For example, shoeboxes that would ordinarily be discarded can be converted into chic makeup cases via a little imagination.
